    My Quilting Journey

The mailman brought me two wonderful Pay it Forward gifts the past couple of days. Caron from Michigan Quilts sent me this lovely Tulip Needlecase. Tami of Lemon Tree Tales sent this gorgeous Mini Art Quilt. Check out the great hanger on the back … soon to appear on a project of mine too. hehe…

  • Triangles for On-Point Quilts

    June 1, 2008
    Tips and Tricks

I found myself this morning wondering how to calculate the triangles needed for setting a quilt on-point. No, I’m not working on a quilt being set on-point right now, I was just curious. I found this information, Cutting Corner and Setting Triangles for On-Point Quilts. Some scary math there. Browsing around some more, I see…

“Oh, it’s not for me! I’m buying it for a friend!” Because it’s on sale. It keeps without refrigeration, and you don’t have to cook it to enjoy it. Also, you never have to feed it, change it, wipe its nose, or walk it. I need extra weight in the trunk of my car for…

  • Country Wall Hangings

    May 19, 2008
    My Quilting Journey

Here are a couple of wall hangings that are in my living room/sewing area. They are pre-printed fabric, which I quilted (not easy to see). In the centre of the panel, I did my first free motion meandering that wasn’t on a piece of scrap. It turned out fine, but I need lots of practice.

    May 16, 2008
My Quilting Journey, Tips and Tricks

I found this old table-top ironing board someone had left beside the garbage bin downstairs. It needs some new padding, and a new cover, but I think it’ll work nicely on my table beside my sewing machine for certain projects. Some Google searching turned up this Ironing Board Recovery Project tutorial. Updated: A few more…
